Our Management Team & Board of Directors



John O'Neill, Managing Director & Head of Strategy



John O'NeillJohn has run Komosion since July 2009.

He is a former Managing Director of Tourism New South Wales (2003-2008) and director of the Sydney Convention & Visitors' Bureau. He was the Ticketing Communications Manager for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

He served as an advisor to the former NSW Treasurer, the Hon Michael Egan, from 1996 until 1998. Prior to that, John had an award-winning career in media, including working for The Sydney Morning Herald, ABC and Network 10 television.

John holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of NSW and a Masters of Management from the Australian National University.

John Doyle, General Manager, Victoria



John Doyle John joined the Komosion team in January 2008 from Fairfax Digital where he worked initially as a Senior Web Developer and moved through to become SEO manager for the full suite of Stayz branded sites.

John has led or been a key member of teams involved in engineering full life-cycle software development for a large number of diverse internet-related applications since 1996.

He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from RMIT where he majored in photography and discovered his love of all things digital.

Craig Burtenshaw, Creative Director



Craig BurtenshawCraig has been working in design related industries for more than 15 years in multimedia, digital and graphic design.

He is experienced in brand management and development, search engine optimisation, traditional off-­line; print, packaging and graphic design, video production, photography and photo shoot direction, experiential, viral and social media.

He's also worked in architecture, interior design, IT and 3D Graphics. "I prefer to see the broader picture when developing a solution for a client and focus on the opportunities," he says.


Mara Patterson, Director of Sales and Marketing



Mara PattersonMara oversees Komosion's sales and client servicing activity.

In her prior career, Mara was based in Europe for Tourism Australia and ran Sydney Partnership Marketing for Tourism New South Wales.

She holds a Bachelor of Communications, Marketing and Public Relations degree from the University of Canberra and a Post Graduate certificate in Digital Marketing from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Mara joined Komosion in October 2010.


Anton Chemerys, Technical Director



Mara PattersonAnton brings to Komosion more than 10 years of global eCommerce and technology experience.

His extensive experience covers all facets of web application architecture and development, eCommerce best practices and strategic technology planning.

After completing his MBA, Anton worked for a software giant Symantec as an eCommerce manager where he provided strategic direction to numerous web applications as well as overseeing the development teams and hands-on involvement on all projects.


Aine Gleeson, Financial Controller



John Doyle >>Aine has worked for more than 10 years in Financial Management/Control, primarily in the services sector including digital and creative agencies.

She has a hands-on practical approach and enjoys working in a progressive environment.

Aine holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from University of Limerick, in Ireland, where she majored in Accountancy and Economics.

Aine joined Komosion in August 2011 and is responsible for Financial Control and the efficient delivery of client projects.


Board of Directors



Mark Williams, Chair



Mark WilliamsMr Mark Williams joined the Board of Komosion in March 2010.

He is the Managing Partner of Crunch IT, the leading boutique Apple Solutions Reseller in Melbourne and Sydney. He was a founding shareholder and director of Komodo CMS, one of the two companies which merged to form Komosion in 2008.

During the past decade he has been involved in the management of a variety of businesses including the nationwide Apple Reseller Computers Now and top 100-listed Southcorp Ltd (now owned by Fosters). He is a qualified accountant.


The Hon Sandra Nori, Director



Sandra NoriThe Hon Sandra Nori joined the Board of Komosion in April 2009.

She is a 19-year veteran of the NSW Parliament (1988-2007), and Minister in the governments led by the Hon Bob Carr and the Hon Morris Iemma from 1999 until 2007.

Ms Nori was the State's longest serving Minister for Tourism. Her other portfolios included Small Business, Women, Sport and Recreation, Minister for Major Events and Venues and Minister Assisting the Minister for State Development.

She retired from Government in 2007 and as well as chairing Komosion, Ms Nori sits on the boards of Macquarie University and TAFE NSW and in 2011 was appointed deputy chair of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award National Board of Directors.

Keith Stanley, Director & Managing Partner



Keith StanleyMr Keith Stanley invested in Komosion and joined the Board of the company at the same time, in July 2009.

He is a former Chief Executive of Stella Travel Services and was Flight Centre’s Executive General Manager Product, Marketing and Distribution (where he served for 16 years). He ran the NRMA's Tourism and Leisure Holdings business in 2010 and 2011 as its acting CEO.

One of Komosion's three major shareholders, Keith is now a Komosion's Managing Partner, Brisbane, consulting to select clients on behalf of Komosion. He is highly sought after for his expertise in corporate and marketing strategy and people management.

Shane Higgs, Director



Shane HiggsMr Shane Higgs is a founding shareholder and director of Komosion.

He was a shareholder and director of Glass Onion, one of the two companies which merged to form Komosion in 2008 and remains one of the company's three major shareholders. Shane is a former owner and publisher of The Melbourne Times newspaper group which are now part of the Fairfax Group.

As a professional investor Shane has served on the boards of various companies and organisations in recent years, including Quantum Litigation Funding and The Melbourne International Film Festival.

John O'Neill, Managing Director



John O'NeillAs well as serving as Komosion's Managing Director and being one of its three major shareholders, John sits on a number of not-for-profit boards including:

- National Adoption Awareness Week (patron Deborra-lee Furness):
- Surfing NSW (chaired by David Gyngell); and
- the Woollahra Festival (chaired by Kathryn Greiner, AO).

John is also Chair of the Advisory Board for Luxury Travel Magazine and is the author of that publication's Chairman's Lounge column.
