Strategic Digital Marketing Agency Komosion invests in Drupal

Award winning digital strategy agency Komosion hires Drupal specialist Christopher Skene, sponsors the DrupalSouth conference in March 2015 and plans rebuild of web publishing platform in Drupal.

Strategic marketing agency Komosion has recruited one of Australia’s leading Drupal developers and become a gold sponsor of Asia Pacific’s major Drupal development conference in Melbourne next month.

The company has hired Christopher Skene, founder of the highly regarded DrupalGov conference held annually in Canberra and formerly the technical architect for the Drupal distribution powering the Australian Government’s new govCMS service.

The Commonwealth Government is planning to migrate anywhere between 400 and 1,000 of its agency websites to the govCMS platform in coming years.

Komosion’s Managing Director John O’Neill said he believed the decision of the Federal Government to adopt Drupal would rapidly feed through to other tiers of Government as well as the private sector.

“One of our clients is Flight Centre - a $16 billion plus global business - which recently opted for Drupal to replace its previous IBM web publishing platform.”

Said Skene: "Komosion has real depth of experience in customer-centric digital experiences, and Drupal is the perfect tool to realise them.

“Drupal is really the core component in the delivery of integrated online experiences. It’s capable of providing an opportunity for a brand to leverage cross-channel interaction in a way traditional content management tools can’t."

Komosion will rebuild its web publishing platform, Komodo CMS, on the Drupal platform in FY15-16 with more details on the benefits for existing and new clients to be announced shortly.

For three years running Komosion has won Australian Marketing Institute awards for its leadership in digital marketing.

Mr O’Neill said Komosion’s sponsorship of the DrupalSouth conference was also important. “It is a high priority for us to be fully engaged with and supporting the Drupal development community, as we see that as one of Drupal’s great strengths. “
